"The band was formed in Genoa (Italy) in 1987 by two brothers, Massimo and G.B. Malachina.
In the years to come they have produced several demos playing with many local artists such as Davide Polverini, Maurizio Solarino, Maurizio Schiano and Max Cottica. It is with Max that band founder Massimo has reformed Expiatoria and wrote the new concept for "Return to Golgotha". The story looks at the emotions and feelings of some of the characters who witnessed the crucifixion of a young male called Jesus of Nazareth, believed to be the son of an only and true god.
This "Return to Golgotha" represents both a return to the music business after 20 years of absence for the duo and the first page of a new chapter with a look to more modern musical approaches but still keeping close at heart the legends and sounds of the metal that was."
